It's not only the hunters in New Jersey that sometimes act kinda strange .......... Here is a typical street in my home town of South Orange, just a few miles west of Manhattan. It is supposedly America's oldest suburb, having been planned in the 1860s. Every 100 feet or so is a house, house, house. The town has been fully developed for decades. But ..... take a look at the small tree to the right of the lamp post. Whitetails are amazingly adaptable, and here in America's most densely populated state, the whitetails have adapted to living with people to a remarkable degree. Below is a pic of that same small tree. Not only is it freshly rubbed, but it was apparently rubbed by a buck last year too!! I know the whitetails come thru here, eating tulips at night and all, but a buck rub? Did the buck nail that tree on his way to catch the midtown train?
